Here to talk about LAW

First A Little About Me...
I am currently practicing with the firm Layfayette, Ayers & Whitlock, based in Henrico County, and have been in private practice since 1980.

Beyond practicing law, I like to stay involved with my community.  My personal passion is for humanitarian efforts involving both my practice and extracurricular activities.  I've served as Director and Officer of many local efforts including the non-profit Fan Free Clinic, Equality Virginia and as a fundraiser for AIDS research.  I am a patron of the arts and have served as the Director and Officer of the Richmond Triangle Players as well as being a co-chair on the Special Events Committee for the first Richmond Production of the national tour of Heartstrings, an amazing musical.

As a professional, I have accomplished many things.  My practice includes Real Estate Law such as Commercial and Residential transactions, Land Use Planning, Estates, Wills and Trusts, Business and Corporate Laws as well as Civil Litigation.  I am currently a member and former Chair in the Real Estate section of the Bar Association of Richmond as well as a member of the Richmond Chamber of Commerce and the Central Virginia Business and Professional Guild.

Where I Come From...
I am a Virginia native, born in Norfolk and attended both Virginia Tech and George Mason University earning a B.S. in Public Administration and my J.D., respectively. I strive to set a bar for myself that includes public service to my community as well as outstanding professional service to my clients and those causes for which I care so deeply.

My Goals...
I wish to educate people who are interested in different aspects of the laws that I practice. Whether it is dealing with things that I am deeply passionate about like Real Estate or Civil Litigation and Law, I want to use this online platform to educate and provide insight into the world of LAW. Laws change constantly and it is easy to get lost in it all so I am here to provide my opinions and the latest resources to my readers. Looking forward to sharing all my knowledge with you all and don't forget to check back frequently for more information.
